Happy new year everyone!
We’re starting 2025 off with patch 3.2.4 for the open beta. This patch contains yet another attempt at fixing the auto-resolve loop and a bunch of new & updated ground maps. To make sure you get all this changes working its best to start a new playthrough of “Stargate Galaxies”. Old saves should however still work.
Updated maps include Atlantis (updated pathfinding and prop template to avoid the “spiral to heaven” for flying units; thanks to Pacoz for the report) & Cunae which got an overhaul bringing it closer to the original intention of the map. The original version of Cunae was created in 2008 … much has been learned and changed since then.
Complete new maps have been created for the following planets.
Taranis
On Taranis there is an Ancient outpost built in a mountain. It draws its energy directly from a volcano. There is even an intact Aurora-class warship in an underground hangar. Due to the intense volcanic activity, the planet has numerous mountain ranges, but little vegetation and hardly any animal life. Many areas have a high concentration of gas and are uninhabitable for humans and animals.
M6H-987 The entire surface of M6H-987 is completely covered in ice. A secret laboratory is located here, where the Ancient Janus experimented on the Attero device. The planet was abandoned for thousands of years until a renegade Asgard tribe took possession of the planet and used the Attero device. With the help of Ancient battle armor and a few ships, they defended the planet from invaders.
Wraith Homeworld This is the planet of origin of the Wraith and one of the worlds on which Iratus Beetles live. It has a series of gas rings and its Stargate is in orbit, so can only be accessed by Puddle Jumpers or Darts. Most of the planet is landmass with dense forests and high mountains, but there are also some lakes and a large ocean. The climate is harsh with frequent thunderstorms and rainfall as well as a long and dark night period. It has no moon and lies at the edge of the solar system. The Wraith have their largest base here. At least one baseship is located on the surface.
Wraith Clonebase This planet is covered by desert, rocks and scrubland. There are hardly any water sources, very few trees and no natural resources. Nevertheless, this is the Wraith’s most important planet, as it is home to the collective’s largest cloning facility. It was built in a large mountain and an outpost was erected outside. The special thing about this facility is that it is operated with a ZPM and can therefore breed new Wraith a hundred times faster than a regular cloning facility. In addition, the Wraith scientists working here were able to alter the DNA of their queen to create stronger, more resistant warriors.
These new maps nicely extend the amount custom maps for “Stargate Galaxies”. While we’re not expecting to have a custom map for each and every planet soon we’re happy to add a few more to the “done” site of the list. Also: On one of the new maps there is a little easter egg hidden to be found… ;)

- Replace TIE_Scout_Squadron starting forces with Probe_Droid_Team, hopefully fixing the autoresolve loop
Level Design
- Updating pathfinding on Map_GC_Ground_Atlantis (also affects Asuras) and change the prop template to Template_Ground_Prop_Medium to avoid the "spiral to heaven" for flying units on the map. This is a workaround as the flyers will now go through the props.
